Azura
Project Information
Azura was made for entertaining. Its technology was made to disappear.
This waterfront home in Mooloolaba is the award-winning work of Joe Adsett Architects and Tyson Building Group. It has been named Master Builders House of the Year and HIA Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay Home of the Year, among more than a dozen industry honours. Azura's owners came into the project already living with Control4, and they had no wish to learn a new way of living. They wanted to bring their routines with them, above all, their music.
Talltech composed a fully custom Control4 smart home around that brief. Lighting, sound, climate, security and window furnishings all answer to one quiet interface. Every room has its own scenes, from Bright to Soft. When guests arrive, a single Entertain scene lights the entry, sets the climate, activates speakers both inside and out with the owners’ favourite playlist.
The real art was restraint. Speakers dissolve into plastered ceilings and walls. Subwoofers rest within the joinery. Ultra-thin K-array speakers are drawn into the living room’s architecture, and televisions sit behind mirrored glass until they’re called upon. Working alongside the builder, the cabinet makers and plasterers, Talltech made sure Azura looks and sounds exactly as its owner imagined.

From the street, Azura gives little away. So does its technology. Bang & Olufsen bollard speakers planted throughout the entry way creating a welcoming sense of arrival for visitors entering the front door.

The kitchen, scullery and butler’s pantry are made for gathering, with lighting and music a single touch away on one of six Control4 touchscreens.

Subwoofers rest within the joinery and invisible speakers concealed in the ceiling, a detail refined with the cabinet makers and plasterers throughout the build.

Triad speakers and in-ground subwoofers carry the music out to the water’s edge, and an outdoor television completes the home’s most versatile room, one without walls.

A car lift descends to the 10 car basement, where the owners collection rests under the watch of Inner Range security and Luma cameras, coupled with cellular signal boosting ensuring the home's network reaches every corner.

Throughout the lower level of the home, speakers are concealed behind the timber ceiling slats and within joinery.

Televisions sit behind mirrored glass in the ensuite and gym, appearing only when called upon.
